Local Doula Training

Doulas by Nature’s upcoming doula training. Times and dates are:

Friday, Sept. 12, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Saturday, Sept. 13, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Sunday, Sept. 14, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm

The training will be at the Humboldt Area Foundation on Indianola Cutoff, Bayside.

Walk for National Breastfeeding Week

July 26th, 2007

UIHS WIC Breastfeeding Awareness Walk at Potawot Health Village
When: August 7th
Time: 12:30-1:00 p.m.

The purpose of this walk is to bring awareness to the importance of breastfeeding as a first step and key health strategy for preventing diseases including childhood overweight, and to encourage and support breastfeeding women in our community.
This short ¼ mile walk will take place on the beautiful trails of Potawot Health Village.
All participants will receive gifts including a tote bag, baby T-shirts, recipe books, and breastfeeding information.
Water and healthy snacks will be provided!!!

Stroller Strides: fitness for mom, fun for baby!

Stroller Strides is a power walking, total body workout for both pre and post natal moms that they can do with their babies. In addition to a great workout, moms provide a model of fitness for the next generation while meeting and bonding with other, amazing moms and babies. Also, our program offers Luna Mom’s Club membership which includes weekly “Playgroups,” monthly “Mom’s Night Out” activities, and special community events. The Matrix of Breastfeeding, Mother, Baby, and the Mother-Baby Dyad

This course is May 17 & 18 in Roseville, CA. It is presented by The Breastfeeding Coalition of Placer County. The course covers postpartum depression, consequences of early weaning, and hormonal and neutronal involvment in attachment. It costs $200-$275 depending on the date of registration.
